Bangkok will host the 16th Annual Asia Rail 2009 International Congress - Thailand has estimated a total of US$30 billion in mass transit network infrastructure development and it estimates it rollingstock network investment to be in the region of US$10 billion. This was announced by the State Entreprise Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, Thailand at Asia Rail 2008.
Asia Rail 2008 saw an increase in delegate and sponsorship participation with more 170 attendess with 30% coming from rail operators and the government sector. We also saw an increase in key decision makers making up almost 50% of the total attendee participation.
